The mission of the Hearing and Speech Center of Northern California is to enable people who are hard-of-hearing and deaf, and people with speech/language disorders of all ages and backgrounds to participate fully in their families, schools, workplaces and communities. Our staff and volunteers understand the complex array of challenges surrounding barriers in communication and provide a comprehensive set of services to help the individual and families to thrive.
Description:
Hearing and Speech Center of Northern California provides a comprehensive network of services, including professional audiology, counseling, speech & language therapy, auditory-oral education for young children, and youth and community education. We are the only full-service center of this kind in the Bay Area. We hold expertise in a wide spectrum of hearing, speech and mental health. Our Audiologists, Speech Pathologists, Counselors and Educators all are experts in their chosen fields.
History:
HSCNC is a result of the merger of the Hearing Society of the Bay Area and the San Francisco Hearing and Speech Center. Our history of services is based in a dedication to helping individuals with hearing loss improve their ability to communicate and lead fruitful lives. Though social dynamics and technology have changed dramatically for those with hearing loss, our values have remained the same…we deliver results in an innovative, dynamic and inspirational manner. The Center is the hub for people to find their answers and support their growth. The Hearing and Speech Center of Northern California is a 501(c)(3), federal tax-exempt organization headquartered at the Wattis Building in San Francisco at 1234 Divisadero Street, San Francisco, CA 94115
