History:
Van C. Athanasakos, CMC, CPCM has over twenty-five years experience as a senior level management consultant, business executive and academician. Over twenty years of Mr. Athanasakos' experience has been centered on strategic management issues, executive and operations management, project management, financial and accounting matters while holding executive level positions in private industry and with domestic and international consulting firms. The Institute of Management Consultants awarded him the designation of Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and the National Bureau of Certified Consultants awarded him the designation of Certified Professional Consultant to Management (CPCM). He is also a licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of California.

Mr. Athanasakos is the president of Omega Management Systems, Inc. (Omega), a firm that he formed in 1979. His prior consulting positions included Manager, Consulting Services with Coopers & Lybrand and Management Consultant with Booz, Allen & Hamilton, Inc. In addition, he has held executive positions in private industry where he served as: President and Chief Executive Officer, Fox & Carskadon Management Corporation; Financial Vice President/Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Partnership Administration, Fox & Carskadon Financial Corporation; Vice President-General Manager, Property Management at Aetna Diversified Properties; and, Director, Information Systems Department for Sutro & Co., Inc. In addition, he has also held positions in sales management and technical management at Honeywell’s computer division.

He was also an Adjunct Professor of Management at San Francisco State University, School of Business, an Adjunct Professor of Management and Economics at Dominican College of San Rafael, a Member of the Faculty of the American Management Association, and a Seminar Leader at the University of California-Berkeley, Extended Education Programs, among other things.

Mr. Athanasakos is a cum laude graduate of New York University, School of Business and Public Administration where he majored in accounting and commercial law. He also completed graduate work at New York University, Graduate School of Business Administration where he majored in management and economics.
