It is the Mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Marin and Southern Sonoma Counties to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.

Description:
Boys & Girls Clubs of Marin and Southern Sonoma Counties serves more than 3,900 youth ages 6 through 18. We provide a safe place where youth can interact with caring adults who help them to develop a sense of belonging, usefulness, influence and competence.
Every day from 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM after school the Club is open to its members. Caring youth-development professionals offer life-enhancing programs in five core areas. They are:
• Health & Life Skills
• Sports, Fitness & Recreation
• Character & Leadership Development
• Education & Career Development
• The Arts


History:
On November 6, 1950 the first Petaluma Boys Club was founded. On January 27, 2009 - Boys & Girls Clubs expanded to Marin County becoming The Boys & Girls Clubs of Marin and Southern Sonoma Counties. The first Clubhouse in Marin opened in San Rafael at Davidson Middle School and will serve over 100 youth. Plans to open a Clubhouse site at Hamilton Elementary in Novato and other sites around Marin County are underway. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Marin and Southern Sonoma Counties is part of The Boys & Girls Clubs of America established 102 years ago and now serving over 4.8 million youth in over 4000 clubs around the United States and on military bases world wide.
