To foster goodwill and community spirit in Fairfax through volunteer activities.
Description:
Works on projects that will enhance the lives of Fairfax residents, including annual creek clean-ups, marking pedestrian pathways throughout town to provide accessible trails, clearing brush to aid in fire prevention measures, hosting social events such as summer picnic, holiday caroling.
History:
The Fairfax Volunteers were created in 1987 in an effort to improve the quality of life in Fairfax. The Volunteer Board consists of 5 members who are residents of the Town that serve for an initial period of one year, then three year appointments. The Board meets on the 4th Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the Youth Center, 16 Park Road. Board members are appointed by the Town Council.
