The Late Show Gardens aims to address the issues and educate the public of climate change, drought, sustainable practices, and renewable resources by hosting an educational and environmentally conscious Garden Show.

Description:
The Late Show Gardens is hosting a garden show at Cornerstone Sonoma from September 18-20, 2009. We are an alliance of horticultural professionals and dedicated gardeners whose mission is to address and educate the public about the challenges of our changing environment by means of innovative and sustainable garden designs and practices for both professional and home gardeners. All net proceeds with benefit The Trust for Public Land’s Balboa Park (for the development of a children’s playground in the Excelsior district of San Francisco, a green space for inner-city children to play), and to The Garden Conservancy.

History:
Our Board of Directors represent a diverse group of talent with many years of horticulture experience, including two who were founding members of the San Francisco Landscape Garden Show. This event grew out of the Board of Director’s love of plants and their strong belief that gardening practices need to be changed to meet critical environmental challenges in the form of drought and continuing climate change. These issues will be addressed through the gardens of 18 world-renowned designers and a lecture series featuring leaders in their fields. We expect The Late Show Gardens to continue as an annual event and grow the audience to 10,000 participants over the next five years.
