Kentfield Hospital Foundation
The Kentfield Hospital Foundation is a non-profit organization established to provide assistance, support and encouragement to patients and their families.
Description:
The Kentfield Hospital Foundation serves the needs of low income patients that fall outside the scope of hospital services and other funding. Donations are used for 1)temporary housing, meals transportation, 2)clothing and personal care items, 3) equipment not covered by insurance and 4)recreational and entertainment items to lift the spirits of patients and families.
History:
Founded in 1983 by a group of volunteers associated with Kentfield Hospital to raise funds to assist in the unmet needs of those undergoing intensive care for medically complex conditions and/or rehabilitation...needs that are not covered by insurance or are otherwise beyond the means of the patient. The Foundation Board consists of a dedicated group of individuals, many who have been on the Board for many years, who know from personal experience how costly medical care is and how meaningful that helping hand can be. In cooperation with Kentfield Hospital's CEO Ann Gors and members of her staff, the Foundation is able to be of service when needed to pay for temporary housing so families from outside the area can visit their loved one or to cover the costs of equipment needed for a successful transition to home or for entertainment for patients during the holidays for those confined to the hospital.
