The Compassionate Friends Of Marin

The Compassionate Friends is a national nonprofit, self-help support organization which offers friendship and understanding to families who are grieving the death of a child of any age, from any cause.

Description:
TCF Marin offers a monthly support group meeting, a bi-monthly newsletter, a memorial site off the path on Corte Madera Creek; and an annual memorial Candle Lighting Service.

There is no religious affiliation. There are no membership fees or dues, and all bereaved family members are welcome.

History:
The Compassionate Friends began 30 years ago in the UK. TCF Marin was founded at that time by Georgia and John Alioto when their daughter Alana died. The founding board included Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, Dr Larry Dossey and other distinguished leaders in fields related to death and dying.
