The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers that helps individuals and communities prevent, prepare for and recover from disasters.

Description:
The American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter (ARCBA) serves 6 counties, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Solano, Contra Costa and Alameda. We provide community education classes such as CPR, First Aid, Babysitting, Aquatics and more. We also have active youth programs - engaging youth in preparedness and leadership activities. Our Disaster Services volunteers respond to local emergencies such as house and apartment fires, floods, extreme weather and other natural and man-made disasters.

The Red Cross Bay Area Chapter is working to empower local communities in becoming prepared for a major disaster- such as an earthquake - through preparedness education and training on running shelters.

American Red Cross Bay Area 5 Overall Experience    Experience rating
Enlightening!

San Diego "Gas Lamp" area theatre area has changed much.. Oh so much. The individual that refered me to the position understood that I was new in town and quite lonely, I was putting my husband through law school, she was a client at the law firm that I was employed at at the time. I believe she understood that I had plenty of confidence and was a responsible individual that would also enjoy the arts and people who enjoyed the same. My first day on the job as a volunteer, I remember how she walked me through the duties and shared intimate stories of her days spent in the Nazi concentration camps. Experience in general... confidence!
