In partnership with the community, we are dedicated to ending sexual assault and family violence through prevention, crisis services and treatment.

Description:
Community Violence Solutions, formerly Rape Crisis Center, provides a wide range of services to child and adult victims of sexual violence/abuse, their families and the community. Services include a confidential 24-hour crisis line (800-670-RAPE), crisis intervention, clinical counseling, advocacy and youth/community prevention education. CVS served over 1,700 clients last year, over half of whom were children, and provided education on issues such as personal safety, assertiveness and self-defense to over 10,000 individuals. CVS also has TeenCVS.org, a informational website for youth promoting awareness of sexual violence.

History:
Community Violence Solutions (CVS) was founded in 1974 as the Rape Crisis Center and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 1977. Since then, CVS has grown in terms of geographic region and scope of services, and now serves all of Marin and Costa Costa Counties. Programs include the Rape Crisis Center, Stepping Stones Counseling Center, Children's Interview Center, Sexual Assault Response Team and Prevention Services.
