The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government. We do not support or oppose any political party or candidate, but we do influence public policy through education and advocacy.

We offer our members, women and men, the opportunity to gain expert knowledge about issues that affect the way we live. Our interests cover a wide range of issues; housing, transportation, the environment, health care, education, voter information and voting process. If you are interested in having an impact on local, state and even national issues, please join us and make a difference. By joining the local league, you will also become a member at the regional, state, and national levels

History:
The League of Women Voters was formed in 1920, 6 months before the 19th amendment to the Constitution was ratified, giving women the right to vote.
