The Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership of Marin promotes volunteerism, strengthens nonprofit organizations, and enhances community leadership in Marin County through a broad range of services and resources. Our mission is to develop a vital and engaged community dedicated to building and sustaining quality of life. We enrich and strengthen volunteerism and nonprofit organizations, enhance community involvement and leadership, and promote the impact and value of the nonprofit sector.
Description:
VOLUNTEER CENTER: We maintain a central database of volunteer opportunities with nonprofits across Marin County, match individuals and groups with opportunities to meet community needs, facilitate disaster response preparation, and recruit and train board members to serve on nonprofit boards. We have specific programs to engage youth in community service, and to support agencies and schools in creating meaningful service opportunities for youth. NONPROFIT MANAGEMENT SERVICES: We present cutting edge workshops and professional development opportunities for nonprofit staff and boards, house a state-of-the-art Nonprofit Resource Library, and offer an inclusive Membership Program for nonprofit and public agencies, corporations and individuals, which includes such benefits as peer-based affinity groups, consultant and resource referral services, and networking opportunities. In addition, we represent the Marin nonprofit sector on local boards and commissions, and advocate on sector policy issues. ENGAGING COMMUNITY IN SERVICE: We bring community members, local businesses and schools together to foster connections with and celebrate the value of Marin nonprofit organizations and volunteers. We present a broad variety of community events including the Marin Human Race, Nonprofit Day at Pacific Bell Park, Volunteer and Nonprofit Agency Fairs, Week of Caring, Marin Designers Showcase, Marin Nonprofit Conference, Estate Planning Seminar, Holiday Gifts of Love, and Heart of Marin Awards.
