Dedication To Special Education

Dedication to Special Education is an all volunteer parent organization committed to improving special education in Marin County. We provides grants to special educators for computers, software, teaching aides and other equipment. In 2001 we created the Technology Resource Center of Marin, a nationally recognized program that provides, among many other resources, Assistive Technology and Augmentative and Alternative Communication assessments and equipment loans.

Description:
The volunteers with Dedication to Special Education are mostly parents of children with special needs. As parents we saw how woefully under-funded our children's classrooms were. As members of the community, we saw how vital it was to provide support to special educators. As individuals, when we see a child with disabilities, we see possibilities.

History:
Since 1997, Dedication to Special Education has been putting resources directly into the hands of special educators for the benefit of the children. We have a unique partnership with the Marin County Office of Education, which acts as our fiscal sponsor, while we retain full control of how the money we raise is spent. Since we are all volunteers, all contributions go directly towards helping the children.
