The Leon Mission Partnership
To help and support the children and families of Casa Hogar and Casa Indigena in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico.
Description:
As a group of volunteers from Marin County we travel to Leon each summer for one week to paint-up, clean-up, fix-up group homes for street kids and a transitional living community for indigenous families. Also, our annual Summer Day Camp for the kids of Casa Hogar and Casa Indigena has become a truly gratifying and life changing experience for Marin youth.
History:
Volunteers from Marin County have been traveling to Leon each summer since 1998 in order to help two wonderful programs in the city of Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico. Casa Hogar and Casa Indigena have been helping families in Leon for over 20 years, providing a safe loving home environment for street kids and a safe community for indigenous families. The original volunteers were sponsored by Sausalito Presbyterian Church. Over the years volunteers from other churches and groups have joined us in our work and donations.
