To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation reaches out to enrich the lives of women and men living with breast cancer. We do this by providing grants for support programs, early detection screening, emotional and educational services; securing resources for Bay Area organizations including those supporting underserved communities; and offering healing opportunities through our events for those living with breast cancer.

Description:
To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation is a volunteer-based organization formed in 1996 to promote awareness of the increase in breast cancer and to provide immediate help to those living with the disease. We raise funds primarily through three major annual events to provide grants to San Francisco Bay Area nonprofit organizations supporting those living with breast cancer. In addition to the funds raised through these three events, we also raise money through corporate and private donations, and other community events.

Since inception, To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation has granted over $3.1 million to dozens of Bay Area nonprofit organizations. Grant applications are accepted from December 1 to February 1 each year, and can be found on our website: www.tocelebratelife.org.

History:
In 1996 a group of recent breast cancer survivors joined together to organize an event that would raise money for local non-profit breast health organizations. The first annual Stepping Out to Celebrate Life gala, held in a Kentfield garden, was attended by 200 patrons. From funds raised, a total of $42,000 was granted to the American Cancer Society’s Reach to Recovery Program and the B.R.E.A.S.T. Center at Marin General Hospital. In an effort to perpetuate this experience, the Marin Breast Cancer Committee (later changed to the Marin Breast Cancer Council) was formed.
Today we are known as To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation. The following are our three major fundraisers:

Stepping Out To Celebrate Life
This gala dinner-dance, exhilarating live auction and premiere fashion show featuring breast cancer survivors as models, is one of the largest black-tie events in Marin with over 500 guests. A glamorous evening of celebration and entertainment, all of the models in the fashion show are recent breast cancer survivors.
Rally To Celebrate Life
In 2001 Rally To Celebrate Life (formerly Rally for the Cause) became affiliated with To Celebrate Life. Founded in 1992, this highly anticipated annual women’s tennis tournament includes round robin doubles, a pro/am exhibition match, an al fresco gourmet luncheon, informal modeling of golf and tennis fashions and a fabulous silent auction. Rally is both a day of fun and relaxation, and a celebration of hope.

Tee It Up To Celebrate Life
Held at a local world-class golf club each spring, Tee It Up was founded by three "Rally" husbands in 2004. This challenging day on the links has grown in popularity each year, and is followed by an awards presentation, fantastic food and drink and an enticingly diverse live auction and raffle.
