Primary Work Function
Assists with meeting health needs of disaster clients. Assess needs and help client work with hospitals, pharmacies, and insurance companies. Respond to disasters/shelters.

Key Responsibilities
Help clients obtain lost medications or medical equipment, including prescription glasses, dentures, canes, etc. Help staff Red Cross shelters when a large incident has rendered many people homeless. Interface with local health authorities when appropriate

Qualifications
Ability to work well in groups and independently. Ability to work well under pressure. Detail oriented. Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment Problem solving skills and resourcefulness. Reliability. Patience and flexibility. Customer service skills

Must have a license as: EMT, CNA, RN or higher in the medical field.

Enlightening!

San Diego "Gas Lamp" area theatre area has changed much.. Oh so much. The individual that refered me to the position understood that I was new in town and quite lonely, I was putting my husband through law school, she was a client at the law firm that I was employed at at the time. I believe she understood that I had plenty of confidence and was a responsible individual that would also enjoy the arts and people who enjoyed the same. My first day on the job as a volunteer, I remember how she walked me through the duties and shared intimate stories of her days spent in the Nazi concentration camps.
