Be a Bowling Buddy or a Bingo Buddy or a "Whatever" Buddy! Youth School Groups Court Appointed Member Agency

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on November 18, 2009

Choose to be a Bowling Buddy on Monday nights or join us for Bingo on Wednesdays (either in Ross or in Novato). We are just learning how to play Wii so we need Wii Buddies if you have the skills! Our clients enjoy trying new things so share with us your talents and ideas! We are looking for warm, loving teens (adults are also welcome) who want to share smiles, laughter, and high-fives with the residents of The Cedars of Marin. Meet us at The Country Club Bowling Alley in San Rafael on Mondays at 7:00. We finish around 8/8:15. We will always be in lanes 1-10!! Bingo happens at 115 Upper Road in the Main Dining Room at 6:30-8. We know you will leave your volunteer experiences feeling more genuine, generous, respectful and playful. We are the "breath of fresh air" that you won't find anywhere else!

An open heart and a desire to make a difference in the lives of others are the basic requirements. We want volunteers to bowl with our residents but being a non-bowling-cheerleading-socializing- volunteer is of value as well. Each individual who participates as a Youth Volunteer is interviewed (usually by phone) prior to attending the organization's orientation. We will also require students to bring in a Cedars Parent Consent Form (given at the orientation) and proof of a negative TB test (easily available from your physician) before your start date. The application form that you fill out (see our website to download) and the conversation that we will engage in will give us enough information to match you with additional opportunities at The Cedars of Marin if you desire.
Individuals under 14 years of age must have an adult/parent with them. It's great fun! Parents love to bowl too!!
