The Presidio Shoreline (Area A) Landscape & Maintenance Program works to enhance the visitor experience at various sites throughout the coastal region of the Presidio. Volunteers perform a variety of tasks to help keep the public areas maintained as popular destinations for both local and worldwide visitors to use and enjoy. Projects include winter beach clean-ups, vegetation pruning, sand removal, and broad-leaf plant removal. This is an on-going volunteer opportunity: 9 AM - Noon, Saturdays. No experience necessary. Training and tools will be provided. Adults and youth ages 10 and up are welcome. With young volunteers, adult chaperones are encouraged. Fulfills community service requirements. Please wear clothes that can get dirty, long pants, close-toed shoes, layers for changing weather, and rain gear if necessary. Also, bring a personal water bottle and sunscreen.
