Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Share your love of learning as a support volunteer to the FLAGship (Families Learning And Growing) bus staff. The bus makes weekly visits to area communities to reach families underserved by preschool services. Volunteers will meet the bus at a selected location, and assist staff directly with parents and children. Activities include school readiness, story times, art projects, singing, health information, and English literacy for adults and children. The ideal volunteer is comfortable with diverse groups and enjoys young children, children’s literature, and children’s music. Spanish fluency is a plus. Literacy training provided. Make a difference for as little as two hours a week for six months. Bus hours: 8:30 to 2:30, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays; see www.marinliteracy.org for schedule of sites.
