Volunteer Opportunity Details:

The Action Network is the American Cancer Society's grassroots advocacy network of concerned individuals whose voices are organized into a powerful force to influence key decisions. Action Network members use letters, phone calls, faxes, e-mails and personal visits to inform legislators about the Society's stand on vital issues at the federal, state and local level. Examples of landmark legislation that volunteers have helped secure include: establishing the California Cancer Registry; a ban on smoking in enclosed workplaces throughout the state; mandated insurance coverage for screening mammography, breast reconstruction and prostheses incidents to mastectomy and routine patient costs in a cancer clinical trial.
