Join our Peer Education Program as a Peer Leader to help our peer educators promote positive body image and to prevent eating disorders!
We are currently looking for a Peer Leader to join our Peer Education Coordinator and peers. We train you in our philosophy, then co-present with you in schools and community organizations throughout the school year. You will co-facilitate our peer education meetings (twice monthly) and keep our peers excited and engaged in the work of educating their peers!
Beyond Hunger is a small grassroots organization dedicated to healing body hatred and disordered eating by providing prevention education and support groups for individuals with eating disorders. Beyond Hunger's philosophy integrates intuitive eating, body acceptance, and emotional intelligence. Beyond Hunger promotes Health At Every Size.
The ideal person for this position is someone who either has recovered from their own eating disorder or who gets the issue in a personal way. Ideally the Peer Leader is young enough for the peers to relate to and mature enough to handle the issues that arise. There will be a full day training in September or October of 2010. This opportunity is sponsored by: Beyond Hunger

As an undergraduate psychology student, I've been warmly welcomed by Beyond Hunger's staff and board to collaborate on a research project for my senior thesis at Dominican University. I look forward to a continued relationship with this outstanding organization. posted by Camerin on October 6, 2005 |
