Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Tax season will soon be upon us and we need your help to make our free services more enjoyable to the residents of Marin County. Greeters would welcome our local taxpayers that come to each site for help, make sure they are signed in, answer any questions that the client has for us, verify that the taxpayer has brought all the information that is needed to properly prepare their tax return, and assist our tax counselor in preparing the tax package so that the taxpayer has their copies and all information needed for the following year. This is a relaxing and fun position that just makes the tax preparation experience more enjoyable for everyone and gives a more professional touch to our services. Our sites are generally open from 10AM-2PM and some evenings and every Saturday during tax season and all we ask is that you volunteer to work at one four hour session per week. We would especially enjoy having a bilingual Spanish speaking greeter in San Rafael and Novato!

This could be a great volunteer position for a student in college wanting to have more exposure to working with the public or a senior that would just like to spend a few hours helping others. College credits for community service may be available for students that volunteer with Tax Aide. See your instructor for details.

Our sites include Mill Valley Community Center, Fairfax Library, Novato Human Needs Center, San Rafael Community Center, and The Center for Volunteer and Non-profit Leadership near Northgate Mall.
