The Habitat Restoration Team (HRT) was established in 1988. HRT's goal is to engage community members in the management and enhancement of the Golden Gate National Parks. Volunteers and staff meet at different scenic locations to restore native habitat throughout the park. Come out and explore beautiful areas while assisting in invasive plant removal, out-planting of native plants (winter season), and seed collection. This is an on-going volunteer opportunity: 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM, Sundays.
No experience necessary. Training, tools, snacks, and beverages will be provided. Please wear clothes that can get dirty, long pants, close-toed shoes, layers for changing weather, rain gear (if necessary), a personal water bottle, and sunscreen. Adults, families, groups, and youth ages 10 and up are welcome. With young volunteers, adult chaperones are encouraged. Fulfills community service requirements.
