Week of Caring 2010
The Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership in partnership with the Volunteer Centers of the Bay Area and United Way Bay Area is proud to present the 2010 Week of Caring. More than 4,000 volunteers from 100 companies will become involved with nearly 350 community service projects throughout the Bay Area. Dates for this year's Week of Caring are Monday, September 13 - Saturday, September 18, 2010.
For companies, Week of Caring is a chance to provide "team building" experiences for their employees while giving back to the community. Projects are one-time tasks that can be accomplished in 3-4 hours during a morning or afternoon shift. The volunteer teams vary in size from 5 - 35. For our nonprofit partners, Week of Caring is a great opportunity to utilize a dedicated group of adult volunteers to complete projects that have been on your agency 'wish list' for too long. Here are the three simple steps to getting your project up and running:
1.) Go to http://volunteermarin.org/agency/ and enter your agency name and password.
2.) Scroll Down about halfway down the screen and look for "Week of Caring 2010" and then click on "details and project sign up."
3.) Follow the on screen instructions to submit your projects.
Below you will also find more useful information on how to develop your project and successfully submit it online. Please pay special attention to the Project Guidelines and the Online Project Submission Guide. Projects must be submitted no later than Monday, July 12th, 2010.
